“Violin Making in Romagna” is an editorial work that illustrates 50 instruments by more and less well-known violin makers from Romagna and offers the violins in real size (1:1 scale), with very high quality photos and printing on 30×42 cm paper, 126 color pages with cloth binding and hard cover.

In addition to the introduction on Romagna violin making, the book contains the most complete and historically informed dictionary of Romagna violin makers of the last two centuries.

The book is written in Italian and English.

Bruce Carlson wrote the preface, placing the book among the most authoritative lutherie publications.

The book will be officially presented in Cremona on the occasion of the next Mondomusica” fair 22-24 September 2023.

 

The cost of the volume is 250 euros.

Postage costs are:

Leonardo Cella

Leonardo Cella was born in Pesaro in 1985.
He dedicated most of his life to the violin.
Since 2021 he is professor for string quartet at the Novara Conservatory (Italy).

Parallel to his concert and teaching activities, he is involved in historical research in the field of Italian violin making.

In recent years, his research has led him to the publication of the volume “Violin Making in Romagna – Masters, Disciples and Followers in the second half of the twentieth century”.
